Understand the Project Course
MMPP-001 is treated as one eight-credit project course for registration purposes and is intended to help learners apply multidisciplinary management concepts, tools and techniques to practical organisational problems.

Submit for Evaluation
Submit the required proforma, synopsis and applicable guide documentation through the relevant submission channel.
Receive Approval
Start the project work after written communication regarding approval has been received.
Conduct Research
Carry out the approved study using the proposed data sources, sample, tools and analysis methods.
Prepare the Final Report
Present the research, results, discussion, conclusions and recommendations in the prescribed report structure.
Submit the Project Report
Follow the applicable ODL or Online submission procedure and retain copies of important documents.
Choose a Clear and Suitable Project Topic
The official MMPP-001 guideline allows the learner to select a topic of their choice, preferably in the area of MBA specialisation. The title should be definitive and should communicate key information about the proposed study.
Possible Project Study Forms
A study covering a single organisation or multifunctional-area problem involving formulation, analysis and recommendations.
A comparative study, validation exercise or survey of management practices across organisations.

Once the learner is clear about the project field, the next step is selecting a person with relevant experience who is willing to guide the project and meets the specified eligibility criteria.

Management Faculty in the School of Management Studies at Headquarters.
Approved Academic Counsellors of the Management Programme having relevant experience at Study Centres.
Management Faculty having five years of postgraduate teaching experience.
Professionals with a Master’s degree in Management or allied disciplines and at least five years of relevant experience.
MMPP-001 Synopsis Requirements
The synopsis is the foundation of the project. It should be prepared after the topic and guide have been finalised and should be developed in consultation with the guide.
Introduction
Provide a brief background about the subject selected for study.
Rationale
Explain why the particular topic has been chosen for the project.
Objectives
State clearly and precisely what the study aims to know or achieve. Objectives should be neutral and should not assume the findings.
Research Methodology
Include research design, data sources, sample, sampling technique, tools, data collection and data analysis methods.
Limitations
Mention the limitations of the proposed project, where applicable.
Plan the Research Systematically
The methodology should be connected with the research objectives and should explain how the proposed project will be conducted.
Research Design
Define the overall design and approach of the proposed study.
Data Sources
Explain the nature and source of information to be collected.
Sample & Sampling
State the sample, sampling technique and rationale.
Tools & Questionnaire
Describe the tools, questionnaire and their relevance to objectives.
Data Collection
Explain the method or methods that will be used for data collection.
Analysis
Explain data handling and analysis, including relevant statistical tools.
Documents to Check Before Submission
Incomplete documentation can create problems during evaluation. Check the required proforma, signatures and guide documentation carefully before sending the proposal.
Properly filled and signed by the student and guide, with dates.
Signed original bio-data where required; approved counsellors are treated according to the stated exception.
Include the proposal prepared according to the applicable requirements.
Keep a copy of the complete proposal and submitted documents for your records.
ODL and Online Submission Channels

Submit the synopsis to the Regional Director of your respective Regional Centre.

Verify current portal instructions before submission.What Happens After Submission?
If the proposal is complete in all respects and contains the necessary documents, it is accepted for evaluation.
Once accepted, a unique Project Proposal Number is assigned to the learner.
Written communication regarding the status of approval or non-approval is sent after evaluation.
If the proposed guide is not approved, the learner may be advised to change the guide and submit the proposal afresh.
A non-approved proposal can be revised according to evaluator comments and resubmitted with the required fresh documentation.
IGNOU MBA Project Report Guidelines
After written communication regarding synopsis approval is received, the project work may be undertaken and developed into the final report.
The supplied guideline permits reasonable variation and states an approximate upper limit of 18,000 words excluding appendices and exhibits.
Introduction & Review of Literature
Include project background, organisation details, rationale, statement of problem, objectives and scope.
Research Methodology
Cover research design, data sources, sampling, tools, reliability and validity, data collection and analysis.
Results & Discussion
Present results in suitable tables or graphs and interpret the data and findings.
Summary & Conclusion
Summarise the major outcomes and conclusions of the study.
Recommendations
Provide relevant practical recommendations based on the findings.

Cover Page
Student name, enrolment number, project title and guide name.
Table of Contents
Detailed contents with page numbers and consistent numbering.
Approved Proposal
Approved proposal, proforma and guide documentation properly included.
Originality Certificate
Certificate signed by the student and guide with dates.
Proper Binding
The supplied guideline states that the approved proposal should be properly bound into the project rather than simply stapled.
Retain Your Copy
Keep a complete copy of the submitted report and important documents.
Be Ready to Explain Your Project
